PROGRAM:

SCOPE

Polymer conetworks, composed of chemically bonded polymer chains of different structures, belong to a rapidly emerging new class of crosslinked polymers offering a large variety of conventional and new high-tech applications. This symposium will be the first conference that brings together scientists and technologists whose research and development efforts are related to this field of novel materials. The following and all related topics on science, technologies and applications of polymer conetworks, conetwork gels and membranes will be presented and discussed:

      Conetwork syntheses

      Amphiphilic conetworks

      Self-assembled crosslinked block copolymers

Structure, properties and nanophase separated morphologies

      Conetwork gels

      Nanotemplates

      Nanohybrids

      Polyelectrolyte conetworks

      Conducting conetworks, electronic applications

      Low k value materials

      Catalysis and nanocatalyst supports

      Smart materials and surfaces

      Antifouling, low surface energy materials

      Biocompatible, bioresponsive and biocidal conetworks

      Biocatalysis in conetwork nanophases

      Immunoisolation with conetworks

      Artificial organs

      Bioresponsive surfaces

      Controlled drug delivery matrices

      Contact lenses

      Tissue engineering applications

      Conetwork based membranes for purifications

      Theoretical aspects

This Symposium will include invited lectures by leading scientists, oral and poster presentations, and generous time frame will be allocated to open discussion.

LOCATION

The Symposium will be held in Budapest, a historic city by the Danube and a cultural center in Central Europe. Budapest is also capital to one of the most dynamically expanding economic regions in Europe.

TRAVEL

Budapest can easily be reached by plane, train or car. Airport shuttle buses (minibuses) regularly run from and to Budapest Ferihegy airport. Budapest has an efficient public transportation system (called BKV), and taxis are also reliable as long as they are booked, ordered by phone, or present fixed fares.

For airport transfer information, click here and see the "Airport Minibus" or "BKV" headings. Alternatively, for airport transfer by taxi, click on either of these companies for fare information:
